3 speed fan
A good point to be aware of before replacing brushes on 3 speed fan. Check the commutator in the motor (where the brushes rub). I stripped mine today to replace the brushes and saw that the copper in the comm. had worn through to the insulating material underneath, new brushes won't get around that!!!!!. Fortunately, I hadn't ordered the new brushes, so saved myself £20 odd, but now will spend best part of £200 on a replacement fan! - Jules - Joools - JULES - HELP!!!!!

Agree - sound advice. Opened one up today to find the commutator in reasonable (usable) condition but unfortunately the windings had overheated and some were actually broken. One or two brushes I can re-use but not much else.
