Default loose engine tray

The above was bottoming out last night, I haven't had chance to look at it yet but assume the fastenings have come out.
If I can't fix it, what are the problems of using without a tray?

You can get a nice stainless set - I got mine from eBay I think - easy to fit and easy to remove.

As for not having an undertray - the engine and bay gets dirty and I assume the aerodynamics would be compromised.

Best thing I ever bought was a suction pump for oil changes - it means you don’t have to remove the undertray.

it stops dirt from hitting the bottom of the engine and also i would think it reduces noise as well some people use a good quality tie wrap rgds mark

Thanks both, I've managed to secure it, for now, with cable ties. I think the fastener is called a U fastener, rather a large one judging by the size of the hole!

Steve Arctic on this site supplies a brilliant sturdy set of bolts, washers and spring clips, my undertray is probably the most secure part of the car since using them.

Although I have a tray for both mine, neither have ever been fitted. I keep putting it off cos of all the repairs and cleaning I'm trying to do. I haven't noticed any problems without one, but of course I don't have the experience of driving with one to make a good comparison

I run the Shop linked to above, if I can help in any way feel free to PM me on here, or email [email protected]

You'll have no problems with the kit we supply - I've literally swung off the tray on my own ZT-T and it doesn't move an inch. Also, no rust etc on the fixings 3 years later.

What's the consensus on the best place to get an actual undertray?

Mine is missing, quite fancy fitting one and I hear the ebay ones are like thin cheese.

Apparently there's a company about that used to make them for Rover back when they were current and will still make them on request.

Anybody got any more info or experience about that?
