Default Lawnmower for sale (Mountfield, petrol)

Is anyone looking to buy a new lawnmower?

I have a Mountfield Laser Omega for sale in virtually unused condition. It has a 4.5 horsepower Honda GCV135 engine, self-propelled rear wheels, red metal bodywork, grassbox, and a 42cm rotary cut.

The front wheels and rear axle can be raised or lowered independently to vary the cut. Three lever adjusters, two for the front wheels and one for the rear axle. Five height positions on each adjuster.

The machine cost £250 when new and has only been used fifteen times or so at my old house in Amersham, Bucks. It is too big for my new small garden in Warwickshire, hence the sale. The hook-on grassbox has never been used at all.

Being self-propelled, the mower will climb a fairly steep slope on either wet or dry grass. It has an emergency stop lever which cuts the engine dead when released.

I'm looking for £100 Clive including oil bottle of engine oil. More pics available if you want them.

Thanks Simon.

Arrived home intact, only slight movement in transit, no damage. 205 mile round trip, bit tired now as I had to rearrange the garage storage to accommodate the beast and the lawnmower.
Note to self, must get shed soon.

Was it the bright red paintwork that attracted you GG? or the sound of a straight through exhaust

Nah, the 4.5 litre OHC engine. I'm gonna transplant it into the Zed and make it rear wheel drive. Then I can pretend to have a V8
Oh dear it's 4.5 HP isn't it. Maybe not then.

Thanks to you too GG - 'twas great to meet you and have a nice long chinwag. Hope you didn't get tangled up at Banbury again.

I'll keep a beady eye open for that darned elusive handbook - it must be here somewhere.

Be careful with The Beast - it might look pretty but it won't think twice about chopping your hand off. Be especially careful if you use the cable tie on the stop-control gizmo and see the yellow warning sticker on the mower's deck before doing anything underneath.

All the best,

Simon.

PS. If The Beast gets out of control, run like hell.

PPS. VOOT says: 'Where has my metallic-grey chum gone?'

Forgot to tell you GG - once the engine is warm and you stop it for any reason, it'll usually restart if you leave the throttle in the same position - i.e. just stop the engine with the stop lever and restart it without altering the throttle.

You've probably sussed this out anyway.

I assume GG that your New Abode must have a Jungle attached to it?
I would have had it but no seat on it!!!

I know what you mean John. I always fancied one of those cute red miniiature tractor mowers with headlights and a seat. Mow the lawn in the dark on a hot summer's night listening to some music on your headphones.

My miniscule garden doesn't quite warrrant a tractor mower though.
