Another batch of spring rolls in the process, eighty of them. 74 spoken for. Filling cooked tonight, let it cool and make them tomorrow.

Cool

Just home from a cracking day out. Plenty of sunshine, no rain to be had.

Cracking breakfast with 18 people sitting down for food. Then we convoyed into Hayle to have a look around the shops. Then a further convoy back to Ross & Anita’s country pad overlooking Praa sands.

Then a spirited drive home. A round trip of 205 miles and Banana never missed a beat.

No kidding Pete, Did you see the road had sprung a leak on your way home, I nipped into Norwich after you left and water was spouting from a couple of places in the middle of the carriageway.

More roadworks on the way next week...

This is the A47 in Norfolk near Brundall. Taken about two hours ago

I shall be driving down that stretch of the A47 tomorrow.
Might take the boat instead

Quite straightforward once you get the hang of it. My wife used to make them and I got roped in to help, now I make them better than she does! I love spring rolls but every time we are at a party or whatever the spring rolls are always very veg heavy . . . . spot the meat and the veg is in hulking great lumps, I'm not the world's biggest veg fan. Of course there's veg in mine but I put the veg in a food processor so that its chopped up fine and the meat to veg ratio is about 2:1, along with a mix of sauces, spices etc. If this is going to carry on I could do with a bigger food processor!

The 200 I did for my wife's friends party on Saturday there, they cooked 170-180 of the 200 and I noticed as we were leaving there was only a handful left in the dish, I suspect they disappeared by the time everybody left.

The police had closed off half the main road close to mine as a manhole cover had lifted with the force of water coming up past it ...

It subsided enough to allow an hours dog walking without getting soaked!
