I second that. Got a set of standard ones from Matt at DMGRS which lasted only 11 months. He replaced them with no issues but I had ordered the Meyle heavy duty ones in the meantime.

I read on here you needed to chop the thread slightly which I did on the first set I replaced however my old man had a set of what he called “banana spanners” or obstruction spanners and these did the job fitting the Meyle droplinks in no time.

Check on these every few weeks and they are still as good as new, time will tell.

I've had DMGRS ones on for two years, only issue boots perished but Matt sent replacements.
I will say beware or Rimmer ones, even so-called OEM ones. Check carefully - if the top joint is fitted to the rod only by two small welds reject them as unsuitable for purpose, these welds fail. Admittedly it was replaced FOC, but that was hardly compensation for a gouged up road wheel.

The simple solution to this is to buy a pair of drop links remove the dust cover boot by carefully removing the spring and inject grease into them then put the boot back on and make sure the spring is nice and tight fit them and they will last ages, most of the drop links don’t have adequate grease in them

On Meyles at the Moment thro' 2 MOTs so far.

But my originals are still ok abeit a bit rusty and just split their second set of boots.

Going to give them a refurb/paint up as still no play at 130k miles as spares just in case

I'm.just going through a full suspension resto and having had loads of drop links fail in my time of owning this marque of car I decided to restore the ones on the Zed as they have no play rather than use Chinese Chocolate ones which seem to be everywhere.

I had an OE set from Rimmer's quite a few years ago now for one of my R75s and they lasted 6 months They weren't even the cheap option.
