Default 2.0 to 2.5

just generally curious at minute, but am looking to do this if poss..
i am happy with conny se spec and bodys pretty tidy so attention has been focused on improving engine. from what i can gather the 2.0 is basically a 2.5 but with smaller bore??
if this is the case can you simply put a 2.5 block in or get original bored out. or is this a waste of time. i know it would be cheaper to sell mine and buy a 2.5, but as i say everything about the car is pretty tidy and keeping her till she ends up in the scrap yard in the sky.
enlighten me please.

I think it is done on the stroke , not the bore ?
In which case you would need to change the crankshaft and con-rods , possibly pistons .
The ECU is probably set up differently for fuelling , and the gear ratios are different .
Leave it alone
