Default Back in the good books

A few weeks ago, old blingy started spitting the dummy out. When warmed up, it was increasingly difficult to select 1st gear, so had to pull away in 2nd. All the worst case scenarios flashed before me. Got so bad I was going to sell it. Anyway, decided on the easiest first, so gearbox oil, original, 23 years old, time for a change. Got the oil, cracked off the drain, /fill bolts and waited for a nice day. That day arrived, so drained the oil, like water it was, then realised I didn't have anything to refill. Ordered a hand pump then set about refilling. All good, fingers crossed, went to start it for a test drive, flat battery. A sigh, a connection to my ceetek, and 2 weeks later, today's the day. Took it for a 20 mile run, gearchange was flawless. So a stay of execution and a pleasure to drive again. Sorry for the long post but I really love this car 😁

Cool

Perhaps I should get mine changed as I find the gears hard to select. Mines only 20 years old but has high mileage.

I change my gearbox oil every 6 years, and I put Molyslip gearbox additive in mine.
