Default Heater matrix help

The heater was blowing cold on the passenger side, so removed and descaled it, now gets warm all the way across. The problem I now have is re-fitting it, I can re-seat it connect and tighten the bottom pipe, but I cannot get the top pipe to join together without a gap for love nor money. Can anybody offer any handy hints/ tips?

Have you undone the clip that holds the heater supply pipes near the bulkhead ? If you don't undo this the job is almost impossible, releasing this clip give a bit more wiggle-room.

No I haven't Yet, is it held with a cross point screw. I'd have to do it by feel as I am now to old to be a contortionist. Thanks for the reply.

I almost gave up and bought some hose and clips, but the 2 mile walk to the motor factors put me off

If you undo the clip, you'll manage it, what helped me was using a cable tie and 2 small jubilee clips.
I tightened a jubilee clip on each of the 2 pipes I was trying to join, then ran a cable tie through both, when tightened this pulls the two joints together and holds them together, it made it much easier for me.

Good luck.
