Default False warning lights, any advice please

Recently one of my rear number lights failed, so decided to replace both bulbs with the latest LED equivalents. By the way, this wasn't indicated by the 'bulb out' warning indicator.

However, after I replaced them the indicator did kick in. First of all I suspected that the LED somehow didn't conduct as the old ones did. So I put the old ones back in, stil had the warning light.

Since then the 'Door Open' warning light comes on when the ignition is switched on along with the 'bulb out' one, so I suspect that somehow there is something not right with the system.

Anyone else been there? any cures or advice?

Thanks for looking
