surpressor, not car related
can I bypass a suppressor?
I have a vax model 121 cleaner and the suppressor may have gone wrong. If I cannot get a replacement can I bypass it and what happens if a do? this thread may be of help https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?22483 The electric keeps tripping, not instantly but after a short duration. macafee2 |

You can, but your motor brushes/commutator may not last long if you do due to arching. Also, the appliance will generate EMF interference with radios etc.
They are there for a very good reason! A suppressor is only a high-voltage capacitor - why not read the values off the current one and buy a capacitor of the correct value? Alternatively, a suppressor from a newer model where the item is available. Last edited by MSS; 20th April 2019 at 10:05.. |
