Do you use hand car washers
Couldnt not be bothered to clean car today (bit cold up here) so diceided to use one of the local (Lemmington) Hand Car Washers, must say I was fairly impressed with the result for £11.95 for a mini vallet.
Photos taken on phone so not that good quality. So do you uses these type of places and can you recomend them in your area to other members. Cheers Andy

I would rather leave the muck on, than risk having it done by who ever they employ at those road side valetting places which spring up and disappear. I've seen them drop the sponges on the grit on the floor, then pick it up and carry on using it.
I wash all of my stable in one go - get the pressure washer, give them a good soaking first, rinse the grit off first then a good wash down. My 75 got its first bath last week, since September - came up pretty good with just the pressure washer alone.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I'm with Harry. If you're not too bothered about swirls, then I guess if you can't wash it yourself, it's the better option of either a garage car wash machine, or those jet washes with the uber-abrasive brushes. I stood for a while at my local place & watched them. While they did use a snow foam & wash mit, what I didn't like was them using the wash mit on the wheels then on the car paintwork, using one of those 'aqua-blades' to remove water, the drying towels were just left in a pile on a brick wall. Lastly, I'm particular to use only good quality shampoo, god knows what these use.

Used one of these once. I was concerned about the plenum drains after they went all over the front end with a jet washer. So I spent £7.50 to save myself 1/2 hours work. Then went home and wasted 1/2 an hour checking the plenum drains !!

There is one between me and Birmingham Airport run by Eastern Europeans. Been there for years. They do a great job, wash, leather off, clean inside door jambs, black the tyres and all for £6.00. Nice guys too. .
Trouble is, I live down a country lane, and if the tractors have been up, by the time I get home the car's filthy again.

sounds a good price to me,this kind of business is really taking off,i usually travel down maryhill road in glasgow to get to the city centre, there is a unit on their which specialise in valeting taxis, but also take private customers.
or for about five pounds you can take your car to a petrol station and use their automatic car wash and run the risk of broken aerials and unattached wiper blades scratching your paintwork. |
