RAVE is the original technical documentation system for Rover, Land Rover and MG.

It consists a CD based system software and a web based front end providing access to secure PDF files.

Consider it a bit like an electronic Haynes manual.

thanks for that, are they available to buy ? i've bought a Haynes manual and am looking for something to supplement it

You can only get it Im afraid generally on EBay as an "Illegal" Copy, and they are generally old out of date copies so you have to roll back the year date on Computer. Always scan for viruses on disc before use as it will disable your antivirus software because of the Date Conflict.
They are from XPart and are Copyright Material so not allowed to be sold on this or other Forums.

Thanks John. as my experience has over the years with Haynes manuals been that they don't cover everything ,i need some advice on wiring leather seats into a car which doesn't have the loom fitted and guess , no circuit diagram
