No idea what all that wiring is, but congratulations on your photography!

Thanks for the compliment! Not bad results from a sub £300, (when new five years ago), 2.1 Megapixel digital camera if I say so myself. I set it to macro and no flash.

The wiring is part of the fuel injection system, although the extra bits are from the SmartBox.

I've had some feedback from van Aaken today. Seems that the box should boost bhp by +18 taking the 131 to 148 and increasing the torque from 221 to 262 lbs/ft.

The box is plugged into the injectors and battery only with no maf module.

IMHO it would seem the Synergy is better as there's the digital mafam and it has user adjustments whereas the van Aaken does not.

I suppose the only way I could compare is to get a Synergy...

The Synergy is a Great Model (Not on Commision) and being Adjustable covers all the Different driving styles plus Towing. But the Mafam connection is great if yours is a bit dicky or getting old.

I'm sure Ron'll have a cheque in the post *cough*....

I heartily agree, having read the recommendations of other owners and read the tech info on Ron's site. In fact, having had a conflab with the great man himself, it would appear that I would able to install a Synergy in tandem with the van Aaken. The van Aaken effectively produces a similar effect to a remap. I just need to raid the piggy bank while SWMBO isn't looking....
