Smile [Newbie Question] ZT 190+ questions

i have not yet had my zt a week yet but i have a few questions

1) should it be more top end power?
2) should i be more progressave with the accelerator? as i find its alot quicker if i am.
3) i take it the VIS is similar to my old ST's secondaries?

other than that i am well impressed , and i dont think i could go back to a mondeo again........ my previous car was a mondeo ST24, brill car plenty of low down torque/power, brill on track etc usual ST200 mods so it made good power, but it had the misfortune of being written off while parked outside my house

thanks in advance

Welcome to the club and forums

At just over 3000 rpm you should notice a distinct kick in acceleration as the inlet manifold valves (vis) opens up. The KV6 is very free revving and will go to the line smoothly.

If no kick then report back for more advice.

hth

It should kick hard above 3000 RPM if not then it is most likely VIS valves problem.

Do a search for "VIS valves" on here you will find plenty of information.

KV6 2.0/2.5 VIS
MKE100102 - Motor assembly multi point injection/TBI (VIS motor unit, the one on the top)

MKE100110 - Motor Assy-MPI/TBI (VIS motor unit, the one on the back/side)

both about £60 to buy

Default Vis Valves

Ivan,

If you do try your warranty company let me know.

I have a terrible noise coming from my inlet manifold and would be really keen to know how you get on.

Also my ZT follows the contours in the road really bad especially when acccelerating hard it is all over the road, have you found this?

Cheers

Mark
