Default The cost of fuel

Did anyone see the article on the news this mourning about the cost
of diesil .
I remember a while ago a member asked why diesel was more expensive
then petrol and the reason given was it costs more to refine the modern diesil we use today but according to the experts they were talking to this
mourning there is no difference in the cost of refining petrol and diesil
they are both the same . We pay more for diesil because there's a
shortage . Petrol is cheaper because there's a glut ....apparently
It also said there will probebly be an investigation into the
price difference

Still a 15p differential round here, regardless of how much each is (ie best prices 88p petrol/£1.03 diesel) worst 91p petrol/£1.06 diesel. It was the same gap when diesel was £1.16 and higher, but effectively the proportional difference has risen...

Filled up yesterday at Esso on the A127 Southend Arterial, 99.9p for diesel. The Cashier said it had been 103.9 when she came on shift a couple of hours previously......................

That's another thing - the fluctuations (nothing worse than a bout of the fluctuations...) Anyway..

I filled up this morning at the local garage which is always a couple of pence more than Tesco, but prefer it as:-

a) On direct route to work, whereas Tesco is out of my way
b) Hardly ever have to queue whereas Tesco is always utter bedlam

It was £106.9 this morning, and was a bit peeved to see it had dropped to £104.9 on the way home. Oh well, not as bad as the place a mile further up, which is always 2p dearer as it's on a trunk road. Just been to see my mum, and on the way back, I passed this other place, and it's now £102.9!! ARGH!

So, the prices are changing daily, and where you used to know which ones were always cheapest, now it's a lottery!!!

Morrisons should be 99.9p for Diesel now a Litre, Country wide or less.
Most stations are then having to match.

You can get a daily E-Mail with all the prices from your location for 5 miles.
