Default Flip key mod

Am looking to do a flip key mod for my cars (original ones are quite worn now), and apparently this one is compatible.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253764734297

Is this true?

This one requires programming which sounds like a right pain.

Need to swap all internals from your original key to get it to work, & getting the blade cut is a faff
Using their key internals requires a T4 to configure, not worth the hassle imo

You can't program the transponders with a T4

Something like this would be better

Here

ID73 aren't suitable to our car, you need an ID44 transponder and you would also have to remove the EWS and use a different piece of kit to program it in. Also without a barcode (or at least the 6 digit code off the PCB) that remote PCB is useless and not suitable for our cars.

We had a bloke selling those years ago with a Rover/MG logo on the button, very poor quality & the return spring on the flip breaks easily.
Bought 2 but reverted back to Valeo oem sharpish
I have two of the op's cases that I used with a module connected to the BCU for remote boot opening on my MK1

Nobody has pointed it out, so I'm going to

The ones you linked to are 315MHz so for Japan and USA markets.

They won't work, and as Jamie pointed out, neither will the transponders

So there's no way I can just swap the innards over to the new key then?

Bit of a bummer.

Nice.

Is it a straight(ish) swap, or is there some skullduggery involved?

Yep, swap the PCB and transponder and then get the blade cut. Be warned those cases are really fiddly to put together. Personally I'd just stick with the standard key
