Default CDT Thermostat

Had a look at Rimmers price list and they listed a thermostat as Pt No - PEL100570. When I went to order it showed as Housing - Thermostat at over £34.00

Is this the correct part number? And is there anywhere cheaper to get one?

Part Number now: PEL000090 Thermostat-engine
You will also need PET100990 Gasket-thermostat housing £5.66 + VAT

No where cheaper that I am aware.

A horrible job to do if I may say.

Here you go in BMW language

Not sure how accurate the prices are (date wise) as they are also in Euros.

Talking

I had a new thermostat fitted at my last service 5000 miles ago. I bought it from Rimmers part no PEL100570. It was a complete housing and included the gasket. When the old one was taken off it was full of CRUD (thats a technical term) which when removed, the stat worked perfectly. However since I had the new stat and it has done 140,000 the new one went in. Whether it is worth the hassle of removing the old one to see if it bunged up without having a new one to replace it is debateable. My mechanic friend said it was not easy to replace. The car is cushty in this recent cold weather now.

Hope this helps.
