My insurance has gone up by £200. Yet I am a year older and have another years no claims. I believe insurance companies are trying to recoup their losses sustained over the winter periods.

£56 a lot of money in 1985 ? I was paying an eye watering £456.00 TPFT in 1984 aged 18 for a Triumph Bonneville 750. The bike cost £900 to buy ! I dread to think what that would work out in today's prices. Aah callow youth .
!
( On the flip side my Yamaha 900 now only costs me £89.00 fully comp with breakdown etc )

My dads first car in 1980 was a TVR!!! Then, in 1985, he had a Jaguar E-Type V12 roadster. Can't imagine any 22 year olds have got one of them now

Insurance has gone a bit bonkers, I'd been with my current broker for years and last year my insurance jumped from £300 into the £700 mark.

Full no claims protected age 48 Aviva came in at £270.

I'm 47 and can't quite remember what my last quote was last summer with Churchill, but at the time I realised that it had increased by £100 in 2 years. So I phoned them to ask why, as nothing had changed. I told them to stuff it and I went elsewhere. I ended up at Direct line which was only about £20 cheaper than Churchill.
