HI Lee.
Just a quick question did you manage to get your sunroof drain tubes sorted out, also bumping up the thread before the really cold weather sets in over autumn, we are having quite a wet August so far as well, so those whom have a sunroof make sure you have done the sun roof drain mod.

Hi Artic

I visited Jules last April who did the works on her and suggested he'd look over them.

All of the drains were free flowing!

So happy days!

Not sure where to dampness was from

Default Check before it gets worse

I have up lifted this thread because the wet weather is approaching us fast now, also I did a quick job of cutting of the ducks bills on a members car yesterday after he found carpet was a little wet under his feet, and when he rodded the sunroof drains the curtain wire came to an halt.

Hi all,

In the heavy rain recently, I came back to my car to find the dreaded foot bath had made a return in the passenger foot well. I'd already done the modification to connect the two sunroof drains together when it leaked the first time (5+ years ago), and the repair seems to have held, (no signs of leakage anywhere around), yet the floor was still wet.

Took the wheel arch liner off, and the drain pipe seemed to be clogged at the bottom. Poked it slightly, and more water than you would imagine came sloshing out. Just to be sure I'm on the right track, the "official" forum technique is to cut the pinched bit off the end of these, right? To prevent it blocking? Anything else I should do while I'm down here to prevent any more unwanted ingresses?

How easy is it to get the wheel liner off?

Yes its best to cut of the ducks bill as it so called, also you don't need to remove the wheel arch liner to do this just peel back to gain access, I will at some time try and repair the photo's Arctic.

Yes cut all 4 bills off.
They don't tend to block ever again.

Periodically pour water down each of the 4 drains via an open sunroof and check for 4 puddles of water at each wheel.

I've done a video of this test on my FB Page.
Look under videos @Jules75ZT

This is what you see when you poke a endoscope camera down in the depths of a plenum tube.
