I haven't looked at private plates for my MG but I remember seeing a suitable plate advertised in 1993 for my Triumph TR7. It was simply 'TR7'.

I was thinking how cool it would be to look as though I'd just driven out of the sales brochure.... until I phoned the company. They wanted £17,000. I wanted to sit down.

At the time there was a couple at church who had a Mazda RX7 with the plate 'RX7'. The chap used to own a Mazda dealership!

mine is very simple plate and reads

SI FLK

the rear plate is a nice big Smiley job
the front plate is a 'show only plate' as its not a full size unit which I'm sure Kandyman will confirm.

when younger and more stupid I wanted

STU 130Y but that was not availbe at the time, thank god

This reminded me of one that I have seen on quite a few occasions two doors down from us, but it's taken me this long to remember what it was!

Vehicle was a Hyundai Tucson, and the plate TUC 50N. Definitely genuine, not an advertising plate, as seen it a number of times, and the vehicle was not on trade plates. Could be a dealer maybe?

Not as good as TR7 mind!!

A guy i went to school with was given, on his 18th birthday a fully restored mint condition BRG jaguar e type with the number plate GAL 1C, which when you consider his name was Simon Galic was perfect. needless to say a family with more money than sense.

I believe he crashed said car within a year, (his father was in the antique business hence the vintage car.)

I dont have a private plate but mine does end ZZT just a shame I've got a 75!!!
