You can quite easily do the mid regions of France for the same sort of price and time it takes to get to Scotland from Surrey!! My other half has family in Scotland that we visit, and her father lives near Auxerre, so we head over there a bit as well. Almost the same distance going either way (within about 20 miles anyway), and you can get some bargain ferry crossings. I know it is not as cheap as it was to go to Europe, but its now about the same price as going to many parts of the UK - I know where I would rather go!

Hi Steve,

Have a nice trip. Don't forget, I'm in the Paris immediate suburbs. If you happen to have some spare time by the end of the day. Maybe we could catch a cup of tea or coffee somewhere .

Enjoy it steve and hope the car does you proud, and your LPG consumption should make it an even better trip

Thanks for the offer, won't have time this trip but SWMBO and I try and get to Paris as often as we can as we love the place. Will let you know when we are next around. Have a good summer.

But Scotland is beautiful this time of year.....
