It gets better every day...
Our 2003 CDTi Tourer did about 450 miles to tankfull when new. It now returns nearer 550 miles which works out at about 48mpg. The car is just about to turn over 60,000 miles
My old 218 Turbo gradually gave more to the gallon as the miles clocked up and finally levelled out when it was up to 130,000. Incidentally I see from the BBC website that the BMW 2.0 diesel is in the next tax bracket down from the Rover 75 as far as emmissions go - I thought this was the same engine? |

Computer MPG deviation
My MG ZT 135Cdti has just been fitted with RoverRons Synergy2 with the pierberg MAFF, purchased because I was getting only 34MPG according to the message centre. Very impressed with the improvemnet in performance and throttle response, on setting 6. Even more impressed with the 53.3MPG reported by message over my first 20 mile down a dual carriage way . This tailed off a bit to 40MPG over the full tank when exposed to daily work run of 20 miles round trip with 10 roundabouts and 8 sets of lights. However I did a brim to brim calculation on this and only acheived 32.25MPG (377.4 miles on 53.2L).
A bit baffled as I had heard that the Synergy could off throw out the Message Centre but only by about 10% my first brim to brim indicated more like 20%. I have considered switching off the tunning side of the synergy and try it just with the MAFAM enabled? Do the settings (1-10) have the same effect when the tuning aspect is switched off? |

On the Synergy with the tuning turned off: 1,4,7 = low mafam 2,5,8 medium mafam 3,6,9= High mafam , don't use 10.

Diesel mpg "faith restored" !!!
Thanks everyone for the replys
Lately.... getting low 30mpg prompted my original message - but I went from Brighton to Colchester and mid journey the computer was showing a fantastic 57 (yes 57 !) mpg amd the round trip returned 53.5 mpg - which coincided with the average speed. I'm sure that using millers helps as last yr a run to cornwall gave better mpg than the yr before when I wasn't using it. Anyway.... thank you all for replying to my message Matt - B righton

Took this one the other day even allowing for the over-read due to Synergy superb economy.
[IMG][/IMG] Reset at beginning of journey it slowly increased over 30 miles on cruise at a constant speed ( motorway). Russ

I think some people on this thread are looking at the trip computer not checking brim to brim! Either that or they are taking drugs:lol:
A car the size and weight of a 75 doing 60mpg? My brother in law has an 08 1.3 Corsa diesel that struggles to do this Dave

Last brim to brim check returned 48.2mpg but that was mainly motorway work at non peak times with little town work. Just motorway 55mpg perfectly possible.

Run up to Aylesbury and back 182 miles filled to brim at start, filled to brim on return 16.5 litres = 50.31 mpg.
