Default Ticking noise 75 CDT

My daily commute is only about a mile or so, so the engine's not properly warmed up by the time I get to work (I know I should walk, but I need the car during the day).

Since the cold snap started, each time I get out of the car at work, I hear a ticking sound from the vicinity of the offside rear wheel. Could this be the pump for the webasto heater? As it's after I've turned the engine off, I can't think what else it could be. BTW the heater works fine - judging by the burn I got when checking its exhaust!!

Anyone any ideas as to what it's likely to be, and is it a problem?

TIA

Malcolm

yes, that's exactly what I would expect it to be.

to confirm, put your hand under the rear of the car (drivers side) by the jacking point and you should find the small cylindrical pump. If you can hear the ticking you should also feel it by putting your hand on the pump.
