Question noisy rover 75 tdi

Hi all, new member , merry xmas.

problem, when i am stationary for a while and vehicle is on tick-over, i get this noise coming from the engine dept, which lasts for about 3secs? Sounds like a NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- elephant call: confused: Any ideas what it could be ?

regards
Flinty.

I have never heard this noise but the question crops up occasionally and is normally the aircon but not a fault afaik

I've have had this noise once in the 2+ years I've owned mine. It is is a little disconcerting but as long as you are aware it is nothing to worry about.
Just a little addition to the character of the car.
