You can complain about an MOT test
Have just discovered that you can complain to the DVSA if you think you have a rogue MOT test cert. Details here: https://www.gov.uk/government/public...n-about-an-mot.
This would have been very useful for my recent purchase of the V6 which came with a 100% clear MOT but in fact was in a highly dangerous condition. It may not bring any financial recompense but at the least should send a rocket towards the MOT test centre, and maybe stop other people suffering unnecessary pain.

They might want to inspect your car, I have seen this before and the garage who had done the bad MOT were monitored and eventually lost there certificate.
It turns out for some traders they were doing clear MOT's but in fact most should have some advises on but others should have failed. |

An MOT can only be challenged if the car is not repaired prior to the complaint being lodged
I do think it is now time for you to put this down to experience, I don't know where and who you bought the car from, but do you have any evidence the seller had colluded with the garage in terms of obtaining a "liberal" MOT certificate? I know it is annoying to have to repair a car so soon after purchase, however it does state very clearly on each and every MOT certificate issued that this does not state the vehicle to which it applies will remain roadworthy for the duration of the validity of the certificate Brian |

Brian: I've never said or hinted that the seller colluded with the MOT centre. Apart from the obvious answer of incompetence I have no idea how so many glaring faults were missed. I did get on to the Essex garage very soon after but all I got was prevarication. It wasn't till maybe 10 days ago that the owner said "you should have asked us to take the car back." Well I don't think that was feasible: 150 miles away transporter - cost £200? - I've lost the car for goodness knows how long - how do I get it back?
With regard to the previous owner . . think . . . bling. Anyway, much more importantly, when are you going to bring on The Revolution? Workers of the world unite. I'm right beside you Brother. Ye Gods we need it now. Dave.
