thanks for the suggestions, all much appreciated, at the moment i am in contact with Best of British who sold me both mirrors new less than 12 months ago, and so far it looks promising for a swop, just waiting for confirmation of that and that they still have some left, will need to swop the glass over though i suspect as they will have the foreign writing on.

It would be great to find somewhere that could supply these cogs for the future as these mirrors are getting scarcer, and surely the same cog is used in something else.

I will let you know how i get on with BoB
