With you there, good overall show so far, no long gaps between each item. YouTube commentator does seem to want to overtalk the official one.
Spitfire flight spoilt by 3 helicopters with engines running just in front of crowd, I much prefer the Merlins!! Rolls Royce Heritage flight, Spitfire + P51 Mustang was excellent. A visit to Cosford Air Museum is well worth a visit or 2."My" TSR2 is there. Last edited by KWIL; 9th June 2024 at 12:54.. Reason: Added info |

It's a great location for the show, the one and only full R.A.F. airshow in England. The museum really enhances the static display.. Apparently, though the demand is there from the public, they are keeping it to a one day format, shame.
Some nice performances and some needing a bit more practice, the Falcons drop from the Atlas was different as was the "role demo" from the F35. Likewise, though I prefer to see the Chinook thrashing round the sky, their demo was different. Great to see the Red Arrows back with nine aircraft along with variations in formations and tributes to Ray Hanna. Sally B back where it belongs. A very nicely displayed Hawker Hurricane, ( that'll please Ken,Kwil)not BBMF. A pleasant tribute to the late Squadron Leader Mark Long, was poorly timed in it's broadcast, also drowned out by mis-timed aircraft movements. Car park was grid-locked at the end, which is okay with us as we then trawl the static and stands. |

Ray Hanna got very close to being the guest on This Is Your Life in 1996. Unfortunately his wife let the cat out of the bag to him very late in the day and his show was immediately cancelled when the producers got wind of it. Surprise is essential for the show to happen and without it cancellation is par for the course.

I doubt his life could be slotted into a short programme. Ray and Mark, sadly lost, both charismatic and talented.
