Default Red Rubber Grease or not?

I am replacing the O rings on the air con pipes where they fir into the condenser radiator. Should I apply a little bit of Red Rubber Grease or could it contaminate the refrigerant gas?

thank you

When I did mine, the fitter told me to use the stuff he refilled with, not sure about red grease? The important thing is to make sure the mating surfaces are spotlessly clean

That would be the special oil added to the refrigerant charge Ron. It's not refrigerant (R134a) because that would become a gas instantly and your jar would be empty!

Silicon grease (tube sort, not aerosol) smeared round works for me.

A small amount of red rubber grease will be ok put it on the connector first then add the O-ring seals.

Then you can smear the little excess onto the ring it's self, did mine four years ago and they are still ok.
