Smile DAB+ adaptor installation

I am playing with the idea of installing a Pure Highway 200 DAB+ adapter to listen to well DAB radio. I would very much appreciate any comments and suggestions as to how carry this out using the existing Harmony set up in particular as there is no AUX in or out facility how to integrate with Harmony and an suitable aerial. Thanks

I've not done this myself, but it appears to have a built-in FM transmitter so you just tune your harmony to a frequency that doesn't have a station on it and select the same frequency on the Pure.

It comes with an aerial that sticks to the inside of the windscreen although I gather people tend to buy better ones.

This might get more attention in the ICE folder...

I have fitted one of THESE to each of my niece's and brother in law's cars. And whilst I have no experience of their use, they seem to do as they say, and both have said they work fine. With the bluetooth, they can use music on their phones, as well as make and receive calls. However, to do this, on my brother in law's it has to be on the station programmed, but my niece has an aux socket in her i20. If a call comes through, it is simply a matter of pushing whatever FM station is programmed in, or the aux button, and you are now handsfree.

I have both hardwired into their cars, and it works well. DAB reception is not brilliant here in NI, but they have said no complaints, although my niece uses Spotify a lot.

Don’t bother. The Nextbase DAB adaptors look good on the face of it but performance is poor and sound quality is questionable.

Thanks for that but I wasn't looking to install a Nextbase adaptor.

Yes sorry my mistake. Either way, they’re all poor and you’ll run into problems months down the line. The 400 is the best of the three but I’ve seen the same issues.

OK thank you do you recommend a different route but it needs to be relatively simple, for example a single DIN unit with DAB/DAB+ to replace the Harmony, and any tips on aerial, can the original be used, and suitable leads to ensure compatibility with BMW 17-pin block so that the steerin g controls work, any help or suggestions will be very helpful.
