Default FBH Problem.

I started my 02 cdt this morning and started the fbh with the remote, thick clouds of smoke started pouring out, I have removed fuse 8, any ideas please?. Thanks, John.

It may have been clearing its throat ready to fire up? It is not smoke, it is fumes of diesel. Do not get a bare flame by it, it will set on fire. You may now find that you have caused an error to it working again. Try putting the fuse back in and see what happens. Make sure the car and you are in the open air when you do.

It may well have been burning the build up of charcoal that’s been in there since it was last used. It can also do this if it shuts down before a cycle is completed.
Could be unburnt fuel in the gauze following premature shutdown (such as removing the fuse)

Thanks for the quick replies, I went out with a torch and saw that diesel had been leaking onto the fbh exhaust. With the fuse still removed and the engine running the leak had stopped. I can't see where the leak is. Thanks again, John.
