Never done anything to either car today as it was tipping it down. Managed to get them both washed yesterday though.

Didn't wash it.
Rinsed the windows clean then thought "what's the point when it's just going to get clarted again on the way to work?" Proper wash next weekend I think. Also didn't diagnose the dodgy ABS sensor, or try anything with the poor running - I was in a proper can't be bothered mood! |

As a matter of fact McLaren also call their orange "Volcano Orange" As you would expect it is much deeper, and richer than the MGF Volcano. They must budget a bit more per car for paint.
One interesting fact I found out recently is that you can only buy McLaren paint direct from them. They don't make their paint codes available. Here is a picture of the first McLaren I ever saw (in Volcano Orange), at an event in Seattle Washington in 2012. Now they are quite common where I live, certainly more common than Modern MGs! Here is one at our local Cars and Coffee event. Note the New Driver placard. Kind of spoils the appeal for me. Even worse, here's the front view. One last gratuitous orange car picture. This time there's a whole grove of them!

This morning I didn’t drive the ZT to work as the underbonnet pump was making strange noises and the engine wouldn’t start!

Took th 75 CDTI for a trip 19.1 miles today. Set temp up on th screen. 4c was showing and then i started it. Drove nearly 10 miles before it got to 75c. It then stayed at 77 for quite a while but th heater did give off more heat at this time. This first 10 mils was mostly down bank with a cold head wind at 50 mph on a joule carriage way. As I climbed latter it got to 84. Then onto a A road were I followed traffic. On one hill it got to 91c then back to 84c. On th return trip a hour latter it soon got up to 84c and as th return trip is more up hill and less traffic it yo yo'd between 91c and 84... Soooo I didn't change th thermostat but noted th engine felt fluffy (running out of fuel) when coasting (barely touching th throttle) so is th in tank pump on th way out.... God nose.. .

[QUOTE=Rogue;2789614]Where do you have the sensor mounted?
In the windscreen by the mirror where it's always been, an 88 mile trip and it still couldn't find one. It joins the ever growing list of problems with it. |

Oh ok ... When mine was mounted in that area it was always an issue if it would lock into the satellites or not. Once it was on the front of the dash right side up it has always taken less time to log on. Normally i leave the car stationary for a couple of mins before i start the journey and it locks onto enough to be useable.
