Thank you all very much for your helpful advice and tips.

I've just booked in with Jules in Colwyn Bay in order to avoid another 'don't really know what I'm doing' disaster.

I'll let you know what his assessment was after he's done his stuff.

If you need to change the burner, have a read https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=125416
It is a silver box.

just an update.

Fortunately not the ballast box although Jules did mention that as a possibility before starting on the car. Tidied up another couple of odds and sods at the same time

Bumper off new headlamp bulbs fitted

New fuel tank pump to replace the non working one

Changed split bush on front suspension arm to correct slight clunk on stopping and starting off

Swapped out pretensioner connections to correct intermittent airbag fault.

Bit of a sickener just before Christmas in regards to reduction in Xmas spending money but all items that needed sorting out and a job well done. Don't suppose the missus is going to be too pleased with a carefully wrapped up faulty fuel pump and rubber bush for Christmas but I will let her enjoy a clunk free drive up to her dads for Christmas dinner as a bonus.

Less than an hour working at a leisurely pace. I thought a Bulb had gone. Not that. It had not, a connector had become detached or was already detached/loose when I bought car shortly before. I now have two brand new unused Bulbs ... somewhere stored in my garage..

Cars can be like that...
I was about to ask what engine you had in that car until I realised it was an upside down headlight
