KV6 oilsump quick connector removal
Quick connector of the dipstick tube is leaking and am busy installing a new one.
The old one is partly removed, but the remainder doesn't want to come out Any tips? Rob

Fixed!
'Chiselled' the quick release carefully out with screwdrivers and pulled the pieces with pointy pliers, while hoovering to avoid pieces falling in the sump. So the bathroom sealant bodge it came with is back to original Would still like to know if there is an official or better way. Rob

Last time I did the belts on my KV6 I forgot to put the dipstick tube back in. I tried to worm the tube back into place but wasnt quite able to do it without removing the aux. belt idler. Then it was simple. The bolt holding the tube in place is really awkward to get at with the idler in the way.
The quick release has a barbed metal ring holding it in place. You should be able to pry it out of its hole but make sure the metal piece comes out with it. You don't want to push it into the sump when installing the new fitting.
