Lo and behold after a few minutes the coolant pipe started dripping as pressure built up in the system.

Stripped it all back out last night and this morning got hold of a genuine LR O ring and compared the size to the viton O ring I had fitted. The viton one was slightly undersize, so that explained the leak.

Fitted the LR one and all is now well. Just to be on the safe side I got the old GhettoTech cold pressure tester out and checked the system was coolant tight before fitting the engine mount and other gubbins back on.

Brilliant Mike, saves me annoying Mrs MB any further as I have turned the house upside down looking for the three I have left in the packet.

XPart don't have the drawing for it either

Brian

P.S. the ZT passed the MOT

Funny thing is Bri you sent me a couple some time back and I fitted one then couldn't find the spare.

I think they are manufactured by the Klingons, and after a while they cloak.

Great that the ZT got another year's ticket. Hopefully this will when it goes in on Wednesday.

If someone can send me one of the correct size I might be able to obtain some from our stock of Viton seals at work

I picked up a set of Viton rings off E-bay recently and the kit contained two different sizes that had to be installed in the right position. It also came with a flat seal that went on the cap first. No leaks!

Just had a reply from the seller apologising for sending the wrong size O ring and refunding the cost.

Mistakes happen and to be fair they dealt with it promptly and held their hand up.

That’s good Mike, I know it doesn’t help the fact that you had to do the job twice, but it’s reassuring that the other seals that are sold ‘should’ be ok.

Received and fitted a cruise control module. Got the dash button to fit and I am waiting on the steering wheel controls. Hoping to be able to try it next weekend all being well.
Chucked a bucket of water over the car as it was filthy too.

Changed the dipped beam bulbs on no. 1 saloon, as the drivers side blew on Friday.
Changed the oil and filter. Went to change the air filter but it was spotless.
Then remembered I’d changed the oil and air filter about 6 months ago.🙄
I just hadn’t been driving the car. d’oh.
