Which External Hard Drive?
The lad has started Uni this week and he's been told his memory stick is way to small. It's been suggested a 1TB external hard drive would be best. We are talking about the ones about twice the size of a blackberry phone and as slim. Do any members have any suggestions to what flavour is better that than others?

tbh, all external hdd's have a branded hdd inside, all seem to be as good as each other, i make my own up when i need one, does he really need 1 tb drive, thats a huge amount of space for college work, would probably use about 5% of that on college work. i have a 1 tb hdd which i use for all back ups etc, pics, hdd home movies etc and just touching on 300 gb.

I've got the lad to talk to some of the students who are on year two of his course. Most have a 500gb and have never even come close to using it all. As a 500gb is a more reliable unit I'm asking members if anyone have one of that size and what they think of it and would they recommend it?

Reliability? never had a problem with any. Infact, since I got my first PC in 1997 I've never had a HDD fail. Still make regular back-up's though

I bought this when I was in Portugal 59 Euros at Worten, http://www.worten.pt/ProductDetail.a...659498&oid=&c= it was 69 something but they gave 10 Euros off when I asked for a discount?!
I think it's very good! You can get the Mini 2.5 version aswell. http://memup.co.uk/KIOSK-LS-MINI-SER...lity_a110.html I'm sure they are locally available. Cheers, Bill.
