Update with price.
I have had a reply this morning from the guy and I have chatted on the phone just to get things clear,
Tooling costs will be covered by the company so good news there, They were supplied with an early hose and the later 2 piece hose (only the long part) the cheaper price he has quoted is for the later hose although this will be probably the same as the one piece after I explained about it being the same pipe with a part missing for the air temp sensor on later models and should be 2 piece. Anyway here's his reply. Hi, I have had a chance to look at the hoses. The bad news is that the unit costs I gave you has increased, this is due to the construction. The hoses will be made using a Fluoro Silicone Polyester Liner and a 4 Ply Silicone - Polyester fabric reinforcement. So 5 Plies in total Unit costs £40.00 and £45.00 + Vat The tooling costs are approximately £400.00, so I would need to see an order approximately 15 kits to justify the expenditure. Delivery would be 2-3 weeks from receipt of order. Carriage per drop would be £8.00 Best regards David What's the members feel on this? These will be purchased from the company direct not through or from me and will be advertised on there website if and when it's a goer.

Good work Wullie!
Can you confirm they have modelled the tooling on a brand new OEM pipe? Jules

Hi Jules, No tooling has been made yet samples were provided for quote purposes and possibly tooling but I will advise moulds would be best made from new hose.

Silicone Hose
I was quoted £80 for a new OE rubber one piece hose so £62 inclusive for what I think should be an indestructible type would be a bargain if your old one was at the stage of needing a quick replacement. If it was just to have one standing by that is quite pricey. Does anybody know if the rubber one does cost £80?

Well done Wullie!
An excellent result for a silicon hose of this size and with the 5 ply it should last for anyones forseeable future. I am definitely still in for one of the longer "older" type. My "original" hose is very soft now and probably starting to bulge under pressure but I will wrap it closely with gaffer tape to last until the new silicons are ready. Thanks Dennis |

Thanks for taking the time and effort to organise this for us all Wullie.
I'm afraid I'll have to pull out though as I unfortunately had to get one fairly quickly last week from Rimmers Andy

At that price I'm definitely still in. Long piece for me.
