Could have done, its a sure way to stop traffic from both directions.

As soon as I saw flames coming from under the bonnet, I bumped the Gal up on the greass verge and out I jumped. I remember grabbing the childs car seats from the rear, but leaving my phone in its cradle on the dash, the fireman handed the phone to me once flames were put out, phone was untouched.

The first thing the chief fire officer said to me was, have I had the car repaired recently, and was it engine overheating related. I had to answer yes to both questions, seems its the top answer regarding car fires.
