Default Octavia vRS - any experiences?

I am considering buying one (probably something like an 08 plate) Now I'm 50 I want a fun car to drive again but, as I also run an 8 year old boy, something like a hot Golf just isn't practical enough

I'm not fussed about it being either a petrol or a diesel I just wondered if anyone has/had one and if they had any experiences to share?

Obviously I know what Outlaw 41 already thinks

A mate of mine has a vrs petrol running 260 bhp.with air filter and remap.he reckons it shifts but on mk2 octavia the sills seem to suffer from rust.also i recall him saying that something on the engine is prone to breaking on the petrol, some kind of little cam thingy or summat😕
