I’m pretty sure it’s not got air con. I think the garage is MJN or something like that, recommended by a few people on here so hopefully they’ll know what to look for. But I will pass it on to him so he can mention it.

Yes indeed mine did have air con. On the Streetwise however the BCU was sat on the bulkhead and got damp during heavy rain on motorways. Simple design fault I reckon. No trouble for a whole year once sat in the footwell.

THE man to talk to in regards to Pektron SCU related issues is Paul "Technozen" Brown.
Find him HERE I would rather pass work to Paul than carry it out myself if I'm honest, he's that good with these units Brian |

The SCU unit is attached to the bulkhead near the aircon pipes, which condensate and drip water onto the SCU

I don’t disagree with you as it does happen. However there was some water ingress during heavy rain especially on motorways. Drove to Bridgewater in a storm and had the RAC tow me home. Spent the following morning drying out the car and removed the box which was soaking wet. Thanks to Terry Shaw I’m now handy at removing air con units and fixing the problem myself. Only problem is that a new box needs to be paired with the car by laptop, like a T4. As good as they are, the 25/ZR and Streetwise are really dated now. My MG ZR was a great drivers car but sadly was slowly rusting away. The 75/ZT are way ahead on quality and last better. It shows how dated the range was at the end. Face lifts on old models was never going to work. Terrible waste as the MGR team were making the best they could on a tiny budget.

Plus one for Paul - he repaired one of our Pektron SCUs and supplied and programmed a couple of new remotes. First class work and very reasonable cost too. |

Thanks, I sent him the link, but as it's already at the garage he said he'd let them sort it. Plus he said he wants it done ASAP so hasn't got time to wait around for it to be send off, fixed and returned, as he's having to ride in to work, which I know he doesn't like doing as it's cold in the dark, and he doesn't like riding in the city traffic.

He was looking at getting a new car, so this might be the shove over the edge. |
