I got very frustrated with my 75 today...

A couple of days ago I got the dreaded message that one of the bulbs had failed. Turned out to be the drivers sidelight. Although these are known for their limited access, I've done a couple in the past and didn't think too much of it.

Anyway - in my haste, the headlight bracket that holds the bulb in place popped open. I went to put it back into place and to my shock and absolute horror the whole metal bracket came off in my hand. I knew from that moment that it was going to be a bumper off job

Anyway, got to the 6th screw on the bumper and thought this is strange, it's lifted up but wont fully unscrew. Turned out that someone had put a nut on the end of it which was nigh on impossible to get to. In the end I had to take a hacksaw to the screw and saw it off. Even now, the remnant is still in there. What did MGR make these screws out of? Chocolate? They are SO soft and burr so easily!!

Then, the screws underneath the bumper were rusted solid and wouldn't undo - unbelievable.

Finally got the bumper off and looked in my toolbox - b**ger. I used the last sidelight bulb for a relatives car. So - a trek to the local garage to get one.

Fitting was thankfully a lot easier than taking off and it has given me more confidence to do it again now which is good.

do what a lot of others have done and replace all of the bolts in stainless and the screws with M5 cap head bolts and stailess chimney screws.... they will never rust again...

Yesterday (on the 75) I cleaned the headliner and other fabric type materials due the the previous owner being a smoker. No matter how much fresh air i was putting through the car the smoke smell just wouldnt go away.

Much freshness this morning
