I’ve had my gauge since 2010. It was fitter to my first R40. A Connie 2.5 v6. I removed it when I sold the car last year and although not a necessity on a diesel it’s gone in and works.!!

I went out for a bit of a proper drive in the car to see how she handles now I've replaced the rear shocks, have to say I was quite happy with it, the twitchiness and ruptured camel road holding completely gone.

Back home and I fitted the recently acquired HK speakers to the car, the sound much improved now, nothing like the ace of spades by Motorhead to clear the cobwebs.

Been messing around getting ready to put the aircon condenser on
for a few days. Keep finding other things to fahrt about with while the front is off. Had the two bonnet locks off and cleaned them up and greased them. Tomorrow Dremal work on the radiator shroud so I can replace the aircon rad, and see if anything else wants doing. Bound to find something wants a bit of frabbling with. The front won’t go back on permanently until I have replaced the induction tubing which is coming Tuesday or Thursday.

Drove to Hartlepool, sorted out a very mixed up automatic tourer which some numbnut had fitted a 116PS manual ECU set

Then drove north, and made a new key for a V8 Tourer, then went home for tea, after which I removed a damaged exhaust heatshield to allow me to fabricate some repair sections.

I will do a progress update tomorrow

Today I refitted the 11 spokes to the NUK after tiding up the insides yesterday & the day before, the Star spokes are going for a refurb beginning of the week I have three star spokes which I will be letting go in near future.

Took both fronts seats out to finish replacing airbag Connectors, all done now and airbag light now off . Repaired piping on driver's seat where they wear, and put the refurbished steering wheel back on. Well pleased.

Had to clean the carpets again as Karen said it smelt of dog again in the car,
So I bought some neutrodol for carpets and liberally sprinkled that around, had a cuppa then hoovered it, smells nice again but I think I'm going to have to replace it if it smells again.
Finished off spraying one of the front caliper's and carrier, tomorrow I'll put a couple of coats of lacquer on then refit and see what I think of it before moving on to the others.

Hi Simon.
I washed them, then cleaned them with some engine degreaser, washed again, dried them then gave them a good rub over with some carb cleaner, let that dry in the sun, rubbed the inside with some emery cloth to give it a good key wiped it again them sprayed it with car silver sparkle paint I got from local hard wear come car spares shop 50p per can took three cans to do the inside of four wheels.
