Default Boot lid replacement

Other than the lock, how does the Mark 1 saloon boot lid differ from the Mark 2 facelift? Is it possible to replace one with the other? Hopefully with not too much difficulty.

You can change them over easily, only the lock that’s different.

Thank you. I've a saloon that many years ago, before I bought, was rear-ended and Cat D declaration. The owner had a dealership, I suspect the repair was done by one of his mates and the insurance money trousered. It's not a great repair. Passes muster at MoT time. Just looks a little grim. The boot lid doesn't sit quite square, the bumper doesn't fit into the rear wing panel and the rear wing panel doesn't. . . I'm sure you get the picture. To others, with a better eye than mine, the rear-quarter respray looks flat; whatever that means. It being a v8 I'm thinking that an unlockable boot may come in handy should the battery lose the will. It's a bit of a faff climbing through the arm-rest hatch.

Yes you have to have access to a V9s boot from a key, having had three v8s the mk1 saloon was far better in that respect that the facelift saloon or the mk1 ztt version.
