Default Can I press out these engine bushs ?

As i've got almost a completly engine bay, I thought i may as well get some parts powder coated to look pretty.

I've got all new poly bushes for things that we can get for our motors, but I wondered if I could get this bush type out on a press, get the bracket powder coated and then press the bush back in again.

From memory that bush has a plastic outer ring. It may be possible to get it out without damaging the ring. To get it back in though you will probably need a tapered sleeve to push the bush through prior to going in to the casting as it will expand 2 or 3 mm once out of the casting.

regards,
Steve.

thanks, doesn't look too much different to the bottom engine mount one which i've got the piotr poly one on order for.

I think i'm gonna give it a go, could do with a press for the garage anyway so now's as good a time as any to get one.

suzblu - could i get that old one off you for testing ? Let me know how much postage etc as always good to have one to break (learn) on first

Cheers
Geraint
