finished re-assembling the front end after having the air-con recharged and leak detected. All good, now the air-con blows freezing cold air as it should.

The old condenser fins were starting to crumble so would have been false economy not to replace it, it was probably the original one.

Sorted two intermittent noises, a drone and a whine with the A/C on.

The drone happened around 70 mph and turned out to be the undertray having a bit of a flap as a couple of fasteners were missing.

The whine was a bit more of a job. Turns out the fan bearings are shot. Luckily had a spare petrol two speed in the garage, so swapped the diesel control box over.

As it was used I thought I'd better test it before fitting it to the car and so held it in the vice and powered it up from a spare battery.

They don't half go!

Had to do a 100 mile round trip for work this morning and covered her in bugs so thought it was time to make her shiny again

Today I changed a wheel bearing under the advice of Trikey, and my low speed ABS fault is now a distant memory! Thanks mate
Also pulled the arch liners away from the body and cleaned out tons of soil from behind them, undersealing as I've gone.
it was a good feeling to remove the bungs and see the inner sills are still like new!

Also did the upgrade to an R53 Mini handbrake coupling......
Handbrake is now the best it's ever been, but what an absolutely horrible job to do with the interior still in place, bottom gravy of the very highest order

Changed the auto box fluid via the standard Rover method. Fairly simple and very worthwhile.

Not today but last week, finally got the air block out of Mo's engine. Took her for an MOT the next day. She failed on headlight alignment (I was expecting that) but once that was fixed she passed again
On Kim I had a broken offside rear light unit so I changed that for a replacement one and all is now working fine

Repaired the rear number plate lights, they no longer flicker and die

Put several litres of coolant and water in the header tank and watched most of it appear on the road shortly afterwards

Fitted Simon's Chrome around clock and air wheel and rear air vent.
That's me done for the day.
