Canon 350D to Samsung Galaxy S3

Does anybody know if its possible to plug a 350D camera direct into an S3 to transfer pics from it to the phone. I dont want to try incase I end up killing one of them as I remember a few years ago when one of my mates tried to connect 2 computers together with a USB lead and blew up both comps.

Just set the phone to be used as a mass storage and you will be fine.

Also pc to pc via usb can be done with correct cable and driver

Your best option would be to get a card reader, remove the compact flash card then do a file transfer from the CF to the S3.
