Default SAIC to build MG brand cars in India!

Just been reading about the Chinese auto maker SAIC wanting to make cars in India under the MG brand. https://www.rt.com/business/382572-c...ng-car-market/

I might be wrong, but didnt Dacia make some of their cars in india for a while? but had body corrosion problems?

Think thats what the Dacia dealer told my friend at work when he was complaining about his new Dacia and its rust...

Dacia were re paintin new cars before they sold them in the uk due to animal footprints under the lacquer of the paint

Hyundai and BMW manufacture in India. Not sure if BMW products reach our shores but Hyundai i10 and i20s definitely do.

welll.. will have to wait and see what happens - see if any more bodywork issues with MG come to light..

That's because they were built to prestige car standards such as Mercedes E Class.

Our German friends would have just charged extra for the "outdoors paint scheme for country lovers".
