I really can't see a downside ........ can you? Linky

I should wait until it's on offer in LIDL.

There's a near-OEM quality Chinese version available on the auction sites for £2.99!

Seems to be a lot of wax snobbery going on ,I knew a detailer who did expensive cars and he put the before and after pictures on detailing world inviting guesses as to what the final wax used on the car was
All agreed it was a magnificent job and most of the expensive waxes were put forward until he put them all out of their misery , it was ...............Turtle Wax

An the moral of this is that the critical bit is.....

Preparation, preparation, preparation.

To be honest, waxes or sealants are all about protection rather than appearance. As AndyNo1 says above, it's all in the preparation. The cleaning, decontamination, and polishing stages should give the shine, then the wax (or sealant) goes on to protect the shine.

On Youtube there's a well known detailer (Junkman2000) who maintains that if your finishing wax improves the look of your paint, then your polishing needs improving. He held a competition (much like the one you mention) whereby he showcased the paintwork on a show car he had been working on. He asked viewers to guess what was on the paint with the promise that the winner would get a years supply free of charge. The answer, of course, was absolutely nothing - no wax or sealant, just bare, properly polished paintwork. A couple of viewers had guessed correctly and he gave them a mention, with the promise of a years supply of nothing free of charge.
