As far as I can see, the repair works and looks decent too, and there are no reasons to expect problems. Just make sure there is a decent earth to the engine, or you may have fried cables and other funnies.

That is about as much time I would spend on this, nothing to see, move on.

This looks similar to how my hose has been repaired, though have only one long length of flexible instead of two. I'm advised the pipe will bend sufficiently, but I will be modifying that bracket to support the hose at the bend.

I remember going out to a truck breakdown where the stop cable on the engine had welded itself to the outer cable. It turned out that the earth strap had fractured and during starting the stop cable was being used as the earth and overheated. New earth strap and cable and all was well. I was informed back at the yard that several vehicles had taken fire due to the same problem where oil leakage had been present (accompanied by drivers sticking dipstick rags in engine compartment voids!).
