Update!
RogerHeinz57 (John) has kindly posted me some serviceable used MGR washers. I'll soak them in Deox Gel if they need de-rusting (Bilt Hamber) - I've never used it before so we'll see how good it is. |

That part is no longer from MG ROVER. Look for BMW 33312282251 yourself. Mit freundlichen Grüßen / yours faithfully Michael Hagedorn Allbrit Automotive Parts e.K. Ströherstrasse 12 D-29229 Celle www.Allbrit.de [email protected]

The top of the bmw part isn't flat like the original. Not sure I'd use that!

It's only where it meets the inner part of the subframe bush, the washer is only there to stop the subframe coming away from the body should the bush fail, hence the name 'failsafe'. It is probably indented to give a bit more clearance to stop the washer rubbing on the rest of the bush and the outer ring.

Re the other washers (RYF000170), I don't think these are necessary on cars with the "dynamic dampers" at the bottom of the shocks, as the head of the flanged bolts are the full of the openings. These dampers were introduced sometime in 2002, I believe (as part of a Project Drive deletion of sound proofing in the rear parcel shelf) and act as a washer in and of themselves..? I'd have thought that any stainless penny washers of near size would suit, however, if found to be absolutely necessary? I'm going to try without - looks a simple enough addition if needed later. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=240949 (see post 3 for a pic of a shock without one of these dampers at the trailing arm). + a couple of my own photos attached for reference.. Cheers, Karl. |

This is what he said to me on 19th July: No, seems to be no longer available. Mit freundlichen Grüßen / yours faithfully Michael Hagedorn Allbrit Automotive Parts e.K. Ströherstrasse 12 D-29229 Celle www.Allbrit.de [email protected] Btw, as a point of interest: take the road marked 3 out of the above town and head north to Offen. Turn left onto Offener strasse, keep going to the T junction and stop. Very sad place. |
