Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody has tried to replace the corroded section with rubber pipe and if so how they got on.

I have recently been losing coolant and it has been traced back to this same pipe. The garage are unable to find any stock of part number PFV000090 and have offered to make something up with rubber pipe so was just wondering how successful anybody has been with this method.

Cheers

As rare as hen's teeth at the mo these.
I would go down the route of getting one made out of Stainless, or replace to 2 pipes with rubber, then there won't be problem with Rust in the future

I noticed! Guess it won't be long until they are marked as no longer available? I notice on Rimmers that one of the connecting pipes (item 16 on diagram) is already marked NLA.

So, I have decided to get the garage to do a fix with a rubber section for the moment and then will look at getting a Stainless pipe made up at a later date (when funds permit!)

Does anybody know of a picture that will show the ends of the pipe that I can give to a company to get a quote for a stainless replacement? I have printed off the diagram from the earlier post and have noted the diameter but would be good if I can provide info on the connecting ends.

i its cost me £ 16.00 for some 3/4 inch 19.5 mm marine grade st steel 2 mtrs in length have bent them to the correct length getting some brackets welded on this weekend , if you know a plumber he can bend them for you . ebay for the st steel , i opted for the marine grade as it has more chrome in it and should last the life of the car

If anyone is after one of these pipes, its worth having a word with Mark of http://www.silverstormai.com/

I believe he will get some made up (maybe as a group buy?) in stainless, as long as he is provided with one to copy (I suppose it could be a rusted one). I think he may even give a free one to the person who supplies one to copy

Eitherway, its worth someone to have a word with him. Very friendly and helpful chap.

Default Update....

Well she's had her by-pass operation and all is good for now! My uncle is on the case to make up a new set of pipes in stainless steel (for as close to free as possible!!) then will just be the job of getting them fitted.

Here's hoping no more problems occur while the pipes are being made
